Remedial Works

Introduction

Remedial Works

Many water services were installed before the introduction of "Model Water Byelaws", BS6700 or ACoP L8. It is usually regarded as desirable to upgrade existing systems where possible to comply with current practice. This can often be carried out at a fraction of the cost of replacing the whole system and in a shorter timescale.

Reasons

The use of water services not complying with existing guidelines can increase the risk of Legionella multiplying in the system as well as the greater likelihood of aerosolising the bacteria.

Our Service

Following a Risk Assessment or detailed survey, H2O Chemicals Ltd can carry out a range of works aimed at upgrading storage tanks, calorifiers or cooling towers to the levels detailed in current recommendations. This includes:

  • tank lining
  • re-routing piped services
  • installing rodent screens
  • insulating tanks and cylinders
  • fitting new lids
  • replacing existing tanks
  • fitting Byelaw 30 kits
  • cleaning and chlorination

The remedial works can be followed with the provision of a Log Book and implementation of a detailed monitoring programme.
