H₂O Chemicals

Arriva are one of the largest providers of passenger transport in Europe. Their buses and trains provide more than a billion passenger journeys a year.Arriva Yorkshire have worked with H₂O Chemicals Ltd for many years and the service we offer them is constantly improving.

One of the requirements of ACoP L8 is that staff should be competent and an important element of competence is training. Following a recent review of the contract provisions it was agreed that HOW2 training services, H₂O Chemicals’ H&S training division would carry out 2 days of specific Legionella Control training to a variety of site staff and management team.This has resulted in much improved control of Legionella in the five depots across Yorkshire including:

·         Risk Assessment reviews/audits

·        Improved monitoring of temperature and cleanliness

·         Safer environment for staff and customers

The Health Protection Agency has reported that incidence of Legionella is increasing year on year and so compliance with regulations becomes even more important. In this important aspect Arriva Yorkshire and H₂O Chemicals have made great improvements.
