Stayclean Strips
INTRODUCTION
Air conditioning drip pans harbour micro-organisms and other harmful debris which is a source of indoor air quality problems. These micro-organisms contribute to various respiratory problems in building occupants.
REASONS
Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) specialists have shown that the air conditioning system is the most frequent source of micro-biological contamination in buildings. In the majority of cases, buildings have become contaminated with mould spores and other harmful organic matter, simply from lack of hygiene of the system. They are dark, humid and have a consistent source of nutrients for growth.
Air conditioning interiors are recommended to be cleaned once every two months by many air quality consultants. Most maintenance departments are not adequately staffed to continuously clean condensate drip pans and cooling coils. These interiors are excellent breeding grounds for micro organisms.
Fouling can be of such an extent so as to cause drip pan overflows, with accompanying:-
- property damage replacement costs (carpeting, ceiling tiles etc.)
- maintenance labour costs
- health related problems
Because STAYCLEAN Strips continuously clean these interior drip pans for up to six months without maintenance; labour costs and manpower hours are saved and system cleanliness is markedly assisted.
OUR SERVICE
STAYCLEAN Strips should be placed in the condensate tray to be slowly dissolved by the condensate during the normal cooling cycle. This unique strip will protect the water surface in the condensate tray, thus helping to prevent the build-up of bacteria moulds and fungus.
Under normal conditions one STAYCLEAN Strip may be expected to last for up to six months, after which it should be replaced.
